Bharat Mata Temple

    Situated in the Sapt Sarovar region of Haridwar, Bharat Mata Temple is a cluster of many temples. It was inaugurated by then Prime Minister of India late Indira Gandhi on 15th May 1983.

This temple which is 180 ft high is the symbol of devotion, dedication and pride to Bharat Mata (India). The temple has a beautiful architecture and it attracts large number of tourists. The temple has seven floors and is rectangular in shape.

Ground floor has a grand statue of `Bharat Mata'. In the centre, the temple has a spectacular map of India whose borders have been decorated with electric bulbs.

First floor has 'Shoor Temple' where statues of great freedom fighters of India like Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Maharana Pratap, Maharaja Agrasen, Chattrapati Shivaji, Guru Govind Singh, Rani of Jhansi, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Hemu Kalani and Asfaq Ullah Khan have been placed.

Second floor has 'Matra Temple' where statues of famous women of India like Sati Jaydevi, Maitrayi, Meerabai, Savitri, Gargi, Urmila, Damyani, Anusuya, Madalsa, Padmini, Kiran Devi, Annie Besant, Nivedita have been put up.

Third floor has 'Sant Temple' where statues of great saints of India like Gautam Buddha, Mahaveer Swami, Narasi Mehta, Tulsidasji, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Shri Chandra Dev, Guru Gauraksh Nath, Shri Ramdas, Sant Gyaneshwar, Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati, Shreeranga Avadhut, Shri Gareeb Das, Shri Nimbakacharya, Shri Ramanandacharya, Shri Shankarachayra, Shri Vallabhacharya, Shri Ramanujacharya, Shri Madhvacharya, Guru Nanak Dev, Maharshi Valmiki, Swami Vivekanand, Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Maharshi Arvind, Paramhans Ramkrishna, the Goddess Sharda, Sant Kabir, Maharshi Ravidas and Swami Prapnal are situated.

Fourth floor has a big hall that has the paintings of all the states of India. It also has a seat of Maharaj (Head)

Fifth floor has 'Shakti Temple' which comprises of  beautiful idols of Vedmata Gayatri, Goddess Yamuna, Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandmata, Amba, Katyayini, Kalratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri, Meenakshi, Ganga and Saraswati. This floor is beautifully decorated as compared to other floors.

Sixth floor has 'Vishnu Temple', in which beautiful statues of Lord Dattatraya, Shreenathji, Ranchodram, Sitaram, Laxminarayan, Radhakrishna, Venkatesh Shri Swaminarayan and Vithal Rukmani are situated. While the seventh floor has temple of God of all Gods 'Mahadev Shiv'. It has idols of Shiv-Parvati, Ganeshji, Natraj and Ardhnarishwar along with a beautiful exhibition of Himalayas.

This temple represents all the religions and famous personalities of India. Throughout the year it remains crowded with visitors.
