Luna - Vasahi Temple

Built in AD 1232, Luna-Vasahi Temple is similar to Vimala-Vasahi Temple, but smaller. Its carved ornamentation is even richer, denser and more delicate - resembling paper cut-outs more than marble. In some places, infact the marble is carved so finely that it is translucent!The doorways of the temple are framed by ornate pediments and pilasters; the columns are magnificently carved; and the ceiling is ablaze with mythological figures, processions of horsemen, elephants and dancers.There are two other temples in the complex, dedicated to Parshvanatha and Adinatha. The former is noted for its columned mandapa(hall), and the later for its carved pillars and its massive brass idol..
