Fateh Sagar Lake & Nehru Park, Udaipur

This charming and tranquil lake was constructed by Maharana Jai Singh to the North of Lake Pichola. A Canal links the two. The Lake is bordered on three sides by Wooden Hills and on the fourth side it is dammed. The name derives from Maharana Fateh Singh Ji, who ordered the building of Dam. Visitors can take a short Trip across to exquisite Nehru Island Park, which is the focal point in the Lake.
Attractions :
(a) Nehru Island Park in the center of Fatehsagar Lake, which is reached by taking a short Boating trip.
(b) Pratap Memorial is a Garden on Hillock on the Bank of Lake Fateh Sagar.
(c) Udaipur Solar Observatory having one of the most powerful Telescopes in the world, also lies on an
     Island in Fateh Sagar Lake.
(d) Sanjay Garden lies on the other side of Lake has calm and serene ambience.
(e) Cycling on Rani Road. The Road which run along the Bank of Lake Fateh Sagar is called Rani Road. Very
     often the Tourist takes a Cycle Ride on this Road to enjoy the surrounding.
(f) Neemach Mata Temple is also close to lake fateh Sagar (hardly 1 Kilometer) which is built on the top of
     a Hill is reached by stepping about 800 Stairs
