Bharatpur was originally developed as an area of freshwater marshes for duck shooting. We’ll explore the 29 square kilometers on foot, and by rickshaw. Those whose overriding memories of bird watching abroad are dusty and bumpy roads and whistle-stop stake-outs will find this a marvelously relaxing time. Nevertheless it will be very rewarding, with the possibility of more than 240 species ranging from Saras Crane to Small Minivet. On the water Black-necked and Painted Storks, Intermediate Egret, Cotton Teal and Oriental Darter will vie for our attention as we search for less-usual species such as Ferruginous Duck, Red-crested Pochard and Painted Snipe. In the trailside trees we’ll look for Marshall’s Iora, Silver Malkoha, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, White-bellied Drongo and Brook’s Leaf, Smoky and Booted Warblers. Beneath the bushes the slightest movement could herald a Blue throat or with luck an Orange-headed Ground Thrush or Siberian Ruby throat. In the sky above might be Imperial or Bonelli’s Eagle, King Vulture or Crested Serpent-Eagle. Dusk may bring us Collared Scops Owl, Dusky Eagle-Owl or Indian Nightjar.

Bharatpur has some 300 species of birds, 120 of which breed in the park. This is the wintering home for many migrants from Central Asia and Siberia, with Siberian Crane being eagerly awaited each year, as this is one of its last wintering grounds.

Bharatpur Govenment Museum : One of the major attention grabber after the Bharatpur sanctuary is Government Museum of Bharatpur, which provides a glimpse of the past royal splendour of Bharatpur.

Bharatpur Palace : Not far from the museum is the Bharatpur Palace, an marvellous structural blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture.

Lohagarh Fort : The invincible Lohagarh Fort, which remained unconquered despite several attacks by the British regime.

Deeg Palace : Situated just 32-kms away from Bharatpur is the Deeg Palace. A strong and massive fortress, Deeg Palace was the summer resort of the rulers of Bharatpur and houses numerous beautiful palaces and gardens.

Day 01 Delhi – Bharatpur (185 kms - 4 hrs )
Drive from Delhi to Bharatpur (176 km) and check in the hotel.  After lunch visit the park for bird watching by cycle rickshaw. O/n in the Hotel.

Day 02 Bharatpur (Keladeo National Park)
Morning and afternoon park safari . Watch Indian and migrated birds - our guide will be all the time with you to explain about the birds. Dinner and o/n in the Hotel.

Day 03 Bharatpur (Keladeo National Park)
Morning and afternoon park safari for bird watching - you will also have the opportunity to go into the lakes inside the park by boat to see the birds closely. Dinner and o/n in the Hotel. 

Day 04 Bharatpur – Delhi
Morning park safari. Afternoon drive to Delhi.
